Anchovy Paste recipe for Pecks and Redro style South African fishpaste

Anchovy Paste

As we are not allowed to import Pecks or Redro, here is a quick recipe to make your own 

Ingredients

  • 2 tins of sardines in water, drained
  • 1 tin of anchovies in oil, keep oil
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste/puree

Method

  • in a blender, add the ingredients with a little of the anchovy oil
  • blend to a paste
  • add more tomato paste if required

You can also add salt, pepper, lemon juice, chilli or anything else your taste desires.
