A Cape Blend of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, honouring Simonsig's founder Frans Malan. Part of the Malan Vineyard Selection, matured in French oak, and a trophy winner at South Africa's Cape Blend awards.
Tasting notes
Deep, dark plum in colour. Blackberry, dark cherry and ripe plum on the nose, with sweet spice, vanilla and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and rich, with a core of ripe black fruit, smooth velvety tannins, savoury notes and a long finish.
Food pairing
Spiced beef, pork belly, duck, ostrich steak or venison. Serve at about 18°C in a large glass.
