Simonsig's Starting Blocks Chenin Blanc is a dry, unwooded white that honours the estate's very first wine, released in 1968. Chenin Blanc is South Africa's most planted white grape, and this is a fresh, vibrant example.
Tasting notes
Guava, passion fruit and ripe kiwi on the nose, with fresh citrus and a hint of grapefruit. Bright and refined on the palate, with citrus and gooseberry, subtle minerality, crisp acidity and a long, clean finish.
Food pairing
Creamy mushroom pasta, mussels in garlic sauce or roast chicken. Also lovely on its own. Serve at 10–12°C.
