Unlike our packaged rusks, these are made right here in the UK, baked weekly in small batches rather than shipped from South Africa. If you grew up on the homemade version rather than the boxed kind, this is the one that gets closest to a grandmother's own recipe — a properly buttermilk, eggy rusk with a dense, hearty crumb.

Because they're baked fresh to order rather than held as long-life stock, quantities are limited — when they're gone for the week, they're gone.
