Eet Sum Mor traces back to a German-born baker who set up shop in Durban in the 1880s and started producing biscuits on a machine originally built to make ship's crackers. The name itself is a play on words — "eat some more" — and it's stuck around as one of South Africa's best-loved everyday biscuits.
