Our chocolate fed Wagyu Biltong is made using an F1 Irish Wagyu (Wagyu / Shorthorn cross) that has 4kg chocolate/biscuit per head supplemented into its feed for the last year. The cattle are reared stress free on the open grassy pastures on the farm in the hills of County Wicklow, Ireland.
The chocolate fed wagyu meat is Halaal and the spices we use to produce the biltong are Halaal. Our butchery is not Halaal
This exclusive beef draws inspiration from the rich heritage and unparalleled flavour profile synonymous with the Wagyu breed whilst also adding new distinctive attributes.
It has a slight sweetness with the wagyu flavour profile and fat covering that takes biltong to another level. The taste and texture is sensational with the delicate monounsaturated fats giving a whole new flavour dimension.
Wagyu is high in monounsaturated fats and is a good source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats. Wagyu fat is therefore liquid at a low temperature, so even though there is a high fat content, it's not 'fatty'.
The Wagyu fat in Wagyu Biltong dissolves on the pallet without leaving a fatty feeling. It's buttery and delicate and tastes quite different to normal beef biltong.
Wagyu is not just about highly marbled beef (would you like meat with that fat), it’s about rearing, feed and age of the animal. This biltong is not highly marbled, so perfect for the biltong lover looking for something special at a great price.
